Downloads stuck at pending forever, clear the queue and get apps installing again.

'Download pending' means the Play Store queued your download behind something else, often an enormous auto-update you can't see. Clearing the queue fixes it in seconds.

  1. 1Play Store → your profile → Manage apps & device → tap the updating/pending list and cancel everything with the X.
  2. 2Now retry your download, it should start immediately.
  3. 3If not: Settings → Apps → Google Play Store → Storage → Clear cache.
  4. 4Disable auto-updates temporarily: Play Store settings → Network preferences → Auto-update apps → Don't auto-update.
  5. 5Reboot and retry once more.

Tip: Pending downloads also happen with almost-full storage, keep at least 2 GB free for smooth installs and updates.
