Pocket lint compresses into the bottom of the charging port every time you plug in. Eventually the plug stops reaching the pins, the top cause of 'not charging'. Cleaning takes two minutes.
- 1Power the phone off.
- 2Shine a light into the port, compacted lint looks like a felt pad at the bottom.
- 3Use a wooden or plastic toothpick; gently scrape along the bottom wall and lift lint out. Never metal, it shorts and scratches.
- 4Short bursts of compressed air (or a firm puff) to eject loosened debris.
- 5Repeat scrape + air until the connector clicks in deep and snug again.
Tip: Avoid liquids and cotton swabs (they leave fibers). If charging still fails after a proper clean, the port hardware is worn, an inexpensive repair-shop part.
