Water kills phones through short circuits and corrosion, both take time. Fast, correct first aid saves most modern phones; the popular rice myth mostly wastes that critical time.
- 1Get it out, power it OFF immediately, don't press buttons unnecessarily.
- 2Remove case, SIM tray (leave open), and any accessories.
- 3Dry outside with a lint-free cloth; gently shake ports downward.
- 4Do NOT: charge it, blow hot air, put it in rice, or press the screen hard.
- 5Air-dry 24-48h in a ventilated spot (in front of a fan is ideal), ports facing down.
- 6After drying, power on and test everything: speaker, mic, cameras, charging.
- 7Any malfunction → repair shop for internal cleaning ASAP; corrosion progresses daily.
Tip: Muffled sound after the dunk? Use our Speaker Cleaner to eject residual water from the speaker mesh.
