How to Mirror an Android Screen to a TV

Full screen mirroring for photos, presentations and apps without a Cast button.

Mirroring clones your entire screen, notifications and all, to the TV. It's the universal fallback for apps without a Cast button, and it's built into Android.

  1. 1Connect phone and TV to the same Wi-Fi network.
  2. 2Swipe down to Quick Settings → tap 'Screen cast' (Samsung: 'Smart View').
  3. 3Select your TV / Chromecast / Miracast receiver from the list.
  4. 4Accept the prompt on the TV if shown; rotate the phone landscape for full-width content.
  5. 5Stop from the same tile or the persistent notification.

Tip: Mirroring shows everything, enable Do Not Disturb first if presenting. For video content, prefer in-app Cast: it looks better and frees your phone.
