How to Recover Deleted Photos on Android

Get deleted photos back from the Google Photos trash, Gallery trash and backups, free.

Deleted photos are rarely gone immediately: Google Photos and most Gallery apps keep them in a trash folder for 30-60 days. Speed matters, stop taking photos to avoid overwriting.

  1. 1Open Google Photos → Collections → Trash; select the photos and tap 'Restore'.
  2. 2Check your Gallery app's own trash/recycle bin (Samsung Gallery keeps 30 days).
  3. 3Look in cloud backups: photos.google.com on a computer shows everything synced.
  4. 4Check messaging apps: photos sent via WhatsApp/Telegram remain in chats and can be re-saved.
  5. 5Only if nothing worked, consider a desktop recovery tool, success is limited on modern encrypted phones.

Tip: Turn on Google Photos backup today (Photos → profile → 'Turn on backup'): future deletions become recoverable for 60 days from any device.

If the steps above didn't bring your files back, the data may still be recoverable at a lower level. EaseUS MobiSaver scans your Android storage directly and pulls back photos, messages and contacts that manual methods can't reach.
