How to Recover Deleted Photos on Android

Deleted photos are rarely gone immediately: Google Photos and most Gallery apps keep them in a trash folder for 30-60 days. Speed matters, stop taking photos to avoid overwriting.

  1. 1Open Google Photos → Collections → Trash; select the photos and tap 'Restore'.
  2. 2Check your Gallery app's own trash/recycle bin (Samsung Gallery keeps 30 days).
  3. 3Look in cloud backups: photos.google.com on a computer shows everything synced.
  4. 4Check messaging apps: photos sent via WhatsApp/Telegram remain in chats and can be re-saved.
