Before paying for a repair, or buying a used phone, run a diagnostic. You don't need to install anything: your browser and the dialer can test almost every component.

  1. 1Run our Full Scan for an automatic report of display, hardware, battery, connection and sensor support.
  2. 2Test the screen with the Dead Pixel and Touchscreen tools, speakers with the Speaker Test, and mic with the Microphone Test.
  3. 3Try maker test menus via dialer codes, e.g. *#0*# on many Samsungs, see our Secret Codes list.
  4. 4Check battery wear with the Battery Health Calculator.
  5. 5Export the results with the PDF Report Generator if you're buying/selling.

Tip: A full hardware check takes under 10 minutes with these tools and catches the expensive problems: screen, battery and speakers.
