Wi-Fi connection failures on Moto phones are most often a saved-network conflict or a router-side quirk with newer Wi-Fi 6 routers, near-stock Android means the fix menus are simple and close to what you'd see on a Pixel.
- 1Forget the network: Settings → Network & internet → Wi-Fi → tap the network → Forget, then reconnect and re-enter the password fresh.
- 2Toggle Airplane Mode on for 10 seconds and back off, this resets the Wi-Fi radio without a full restart.
- 3Check the router band: some Moto G-series models have had documented issues joining 5GHz networks with WPA3 security, try switching the router to WPA2/WPA3 mixed mode or connect to the 2.4GHz band as a test.
- 4Restart the router itself, especially if other devices also struggle, this rules out a phone-side cause entirely.
- 5Update system software: Settings → System → System update, Motorola has shipped Wi-Fi driver fixes in patch updates for specific models before.
- 6Reset network settings as a last resort: Settings → System → Reset options → Reset Wi-Fi, mobile & Bluetooth, this clears all saved networks and paired devices.
Tip: If the phone connects but shows 'no internet' with a working Wi-Fi icon, the issue is usually the router's DHCP lease table being full, restarting the router clears it instantly.
