Flicker at specific brightness levels is usually software (auto-brightness, dark theme smoothing); constant flicker or lines after a drop is hardware. The toggles below sort software cases.
- 1Toggle auto-brightness off, the classic low-light flicker cause on OLED.
- 2Settings → Display: disable adaptive/extra dimming features; test both light and dark theme.
- 3Developer options: turn OFF 'Show surface updates'; try disabling hardware overlays.
- 4Update system and apps; flicker introduced by an update gets patched.
- 5Test in Safe Mode, flicker gone means an installed app (filters, dimmers).
- 6Flicker with lines/artifacts or after a drop: run our uniformity test; hardware likely.
Tip: Our brightness/line test makes intermittent flicker and banding easy to see and document before a warranty claim.
