Touch problems split into total unresponsiveness (usually software or digitizer) and partial dead zones (usually hardware). A five-minute diagnosis tells you which repair path you're on.
- 1Force restart: Power + Volume Down 20 seconds, clears most total freezes.
- 2Remove the screen protector and clean the screen; cheap protectors cause erratic touch.
- 3Unplug the charger while testing, poor chargers inject touch noise.
- 4Map the touch surface with our Touchscreen Test: dead squares reveal exact dead zones.
- 5Run the Ghost Touch Detector to catch phantom touches.
- 6Dead zones or ghosts confirmed = digitizer/screen replacement; erratic-everywhere after a drop = same.
Tip: Touch working in Safe Mode but not normal mode? An app (often a screen filter/blue-light app) is intercepting touches.
