Wireless charging is picky: a centimeter of misalignment, a thick case or a weak pad and nothing happens. Run through these checks before assuming the coil died.
- 1Confirm the phone actually supports Qi wireless charging (check specs, many midrangers don't).
- 2Remove the case, especially with metal, magnets or card slots.
- 3Center the phone on the pad; try small shifts, coils vary in position.
- 4Use the pad's original adapter, wireless pads need fast-charge input to output properly.
- 5Restart the phone on the pad.
- 6Test another Qi pad or another phone on this pad to isolate which side is faulty.
Tip: Heat pauses wireless charging by design; a phone that stops charging when warm is protecting its battery, not broken.
