MIUI and HyperOS run a heavier System UI layer than stock Android, and a frozen 'System UI has stopped' state that looks like a dead touchscreen is one of the most common Xiaomi support tickets, it's fixable in minutes without losing data.
- 1Force restart with Power + Volume Up held for 10-15 seconds, this is MIUI's standard combo and doesn't erase anything.
