About this test

This test plays pure tones on each audio channel. Isolating left and right helps you find a mute speaker or headphones with a dead side. The frequency sweep runs from deep bass (20 Hz) to high treble (20 kHz).

Blown speakers usually distort at low frequencies and high volume; missing treble may indicate dirt buildup or wear. If one side is silent, also check Android's audio balance settings.

Frequently asked questions

Can I test headphones with this too?

Yes. Connect wired or Bluetooth headphones and test each channel to confirm both sides work and are on the correct side.

I can't hear the highest tones, is that a defect?

Not necessarily. Human hearing loses sensitivity above 15-17 kHz with age, so not hearing the end of the sweep is normal.
